Ganden - Samye Valley Trek - 13 Days

When Tibet first opened for travellers in 1985, The Ganden - Samye trail was the most popular trekking route crossing 2 mountain passes, beautiful alpine lakes and nomads. The trek begins from The Ganden Monastery (4180 m), 32 kms by road from Lhasa high above the Kyichu River and ends at The Samye Monastery. The main temple Utse at Samye represents Mount Meru, centre of the Universe.

Day 01 Early morning, fly to Lhasa. Transfer to hotel. O/N hotel.
Day 02 Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbulinka Palace, Drepung & Sera Monastery & Barkor Street. O/N hotel. 
Day 03 Drive to Ganden Monastery. Trek to Hebu. O/N camp.
Day 04 Trek over Zhukar La Pass. O/N camp.
Day 05 Cross Chetur La Pass through alpine Lakes. O/N camp.
Day 06 Trek to Yomalung meditation cave enroute. O/N camp.
Day 07 Trek to Samye Valley. Visit Samye Monastery. O/N camp.
Day 08 Drive to Tsetang & explore The Yambhulhakhang. O/N guest house.
Day 09 Drive to Gyantse via Yamdrok - Tso Lake. O/N guest house. 
Day 10 Drive to Shigatse. O/N guest house.
Day 11 Drive to Tingri. Visit Shakya Monastery. O/N guest house. 
Day 12 Drive to Nyalamu. O/N guest house.
Day 13 Drive to Zhangmu - Kodari - Kathmandu. O/N hotel.

Tibet travel permit, 13 days Lhasa (BB basis) - Ganden Samye trek on full board basis, accommodation on twin sharing basis, transportation in a land cruiser, 3 meals a day prepared by our trained cook, English speaking guide, full guide & sherpa support, Insurance & visa fee for Nepalese crew,  all necessary equipment i.e. tents, mattress, utensils, fuel, monastery entrance fee, sightseeing tour as per itinerary, yak & yak men, Oxygen cylinder & masks and Gamow Bag.
